Cajun Crackers
This is Bree Babin's recipe. The secret is Creative Cajun Cooking's Gator Pickle juice. If you have to find a substitute, well, I'm sorry for you, but look for something sweet and hot. The real thing is best, though - order Gator Pickles here: http://shop.creativecajuncooking.com/gator-pickles/
Ingredients for the crackers:
1 box Triscuit crackers
1 pkg of Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix
1 tablespoon of CCC Smokin' Fryin' Rub (a spice blend with heat and mesquite)
1/2 cup of CCC Gator Pickle juice
Preheat the oven to 350. Mix together ranch mix and Smokin' Fryin' rub. Stir in the Gator Pickle Juice. Pour a little of the mixture over each cracker (or soak each one in the mixture) and give them time to soak up the juice. Place them on top of paper towels and microwave until crackers are mostly dry and hard. About 2 1/2 minutes. Check them to make sure they don't burn. Then move them to the oven (350 degrees) and bake until golden and crispy. Keep an eagle eye on them so they don't burn! Serve with the creamy dipping sauce.
Ingredients for the dipping sauce:
1 1/4 cup of sour cream
1 cup of mayonnaise
1 tablespoon of CCC's Fire Dept. Blend Magic Swamp Dust
Mix together all ingredients together and chill.
Great with crackers and vegetables!
