Two large cans yams. Drain and reserve juice.
1/2 stick butter
2 cups brown sugar
1 tablespoon each of cinnamon and allspice
12 oz. pecan pieces
Place potatoes in Pyrex dish. In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter and brown sugar, add 2 cups of juice from the potatoes, add spices.
Lower heat and simmer for 5 minutes then add pecans and simmer for another 5 minutes.
Pour mixture over yams and bake in oven at 350 for 30 minutes.
