Strawberry Kiwi Sangria
This is Debbie Salvant's recipe, and she doesn't really measure things - just eyeballs it. Have fun experimenting with this one!

1 bottle dry white wine
1/2 c white rum
1 c orange juice
1/4 cup strawberry simple syrup (see instructions below)
1 bottle dry champagne or sparkling wine
1 lb sliced strawberries
4 kiwis, peeled and sliced

In a pitcher, add the white wine, rum, juice, syrup, fruit, and stir together. Let sit in fridge until ready to serve. When ready to serve, add 1/2 the bottle of champagne to the pitcher, stirring in, reserving the other half of the champagne to top off glasses.

In a saucepan, add 1 lb cleaned, hulled, sliced strawberries. Cover them with 4 cups water and let simmer until the water becomes red and is reduced by half (30-40 minutes). Strain the water into a bowl, and throw away the cooked strawberries.
Then, add the 2 cups strawberry water and 1 cup sugar to a saucepan, simmer until reduced by half, making a thin syrup.
